Do you have a reader on your Christmas list who loves mysteries? Well, you're in luck! During the sale this weekend, we are offering TWO mysteries! The first one I'll talk about is the first of a series, THE INNOCENTS, by C.A. Asbrey. What a tale, and the start of a really excellent series that you'll not want to miss one word of! This weekend, it's yours for only .99!

Pinkerton Detective Abigail MacKay is a master of disguises—and of new crime-solving technology! But she’ll have to move fast to stay a step ahead of Nat Quinn and Jake Conroy.

Nat and Jake are the ringleaders of The Innocents, a western gang that specializes in holding up trains carrying payrolls—and Nat is pretty savvy when it comes to using the new sciences of 1868 in committing his crimes.

Charismatic Nat and handsome Jake are on the run, and they’ve always gotten away before—before Abi. But when Abi is caught by another band of outlaws during the chase, there’s no other choice for Nat and Jake but to save her life. Abi owes them, and she agrees to help them bring in the murderer of a family friend.

The web of criminal activity grows more entangled with each passing day, but Nat, Jake, and Abi are united in their efforts to find the murderer. Once that happens, all bets are off, and Abi will be turning Nat and Jake over to the law. But can she do it? She finds herself falling for Nat, but is that growing attraction real? Or is he just using her to learn more about the Pinkertons’ methods? Abi always gets her man—but she may have met her match in her “best enemies”—THE INNOCENTS.

But Polly and her stand-up comic secretary, Bunny, barely scratch the tip of the iceberg before things turn deadly. What’s happening with the strange SeƱora at the Botanica de Angeles, the Mass of Santa Muerte, and the dead bodies that keep turning up?

When bullets fly, Polly could never guess she’d be so glad to have her ex-husband, Johnny Birdwhistle, helping out on the case. A crack detective with the Hollywood Police Department (HYPD), Johnny has his own reasons for lending a hand. But can Polly go back into a relationship—business or otherwise—with Johnny? Polly finds herself knee-deep in one of the most dangerous cases she’s ever taken on—one that involves murder and human trafficking…and it all started just down the street at The CatWalk.

But as Jack and his OSAP colleagues explore the saucer’s secrets, the world watches as a deadly meteor plummets to earth, leaving a devastating path of destruction in its wake—including two important space stations. Too late, it becomes apparent the meteor is a missile, apparently fired by the Russian Federation. Detonating, it releases a terrible bioweapon, seemingly beyond the capabilities of Russia’s current weapons technology

The alien technology Jack has discovered is the only hope of survival for the United States. But that technology has appeared at a suspiciously convenient time, in Jack’s opinion. What are they dealing with? Is humanity truly at war with itself, or is an alien external force playing a deadly game determined to see the USA: ELIMINATED!

When Anson meets Myra at the train station, she’s not at all what he’s expecting. He can’t protect her from the gossips if he takes her home without marrying her—and though he may be many things, he is not that cruel. 1. Hi LadyPl--the buy links were on there. Blogger was playing tricks on us today! I hope you'll check back. I've opened it several times since noon and they're showing up now. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience!

  3. Thank you to PRP for highlighting Music of the Heart! It's such a fun anthology and it was fun to write a story for it. My included story is called A Melody in the Dark and it's set in 1978, just after the big blizzard that affected the east coast through the Midwest. Melody is set in Pittsburgh, steel city, while the factories were still running and the strip district was not yet a tourist spot.

Meladee Lerner is a struggling songwriter and single mother of a headstrong five-year-old who moved from eastern PA to western PA to escape her mother and her daughter's father. Niall Dillon is a fully Irish-American scrapper working three jobs to save for a future he has all planned out, until he runs into Meladee and Josie. Literally. One Wonderful Night in a thawing city changes both of their plans.

I hope you'll check out A Melody in the Dark, as well as the fun stories from the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 80s!

    1. Ella, I loved your story and every story in that collection! That was such a fun collection to put together and so very different from so many that are "out there" right now--I loved that each story took place in a different decade. Merry Christmas!

  4. I was so glad to have the chance to put a single-author anthology of my Christmas stories together--A HERO FOR CHRISTMAS.

A NIGHT FOR MIRACLES was the first Christmas short story I ever wrote for The Wild Rose Press many years ago, but it still remains one of my favorites. I'm a big believer in miracles, and they play a big part in my Christmas stories. This one is near and dear to my heart.

HOMECOMING was a story I wrote for an anthology for Victory Tales Press several years ago, and remains one of my favorites--it's not a romance story in the general sense of the word, but you might say the main character DOES get his HEA with his true love in a most unusual way that he never expected.

MEANT TO BE is a time travel romance that gives the heroine a brand new start in life...in the past. The best Christmas gift ever!

And THE GUNFIGHTER'S GIRL...sigh. Made me teary to write it, and even all these years later, I get emotional when I read it.

Right now the collection is FREE and I hope you'll snap it up for yourself and anyone else who loves wonderful Christmas historical romance stories.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
