Book Review Part 3: Mail Order Brides for Sale: The Remington Sisters

This week I'm featuring Cheryl Pierson's Sabrina.

Blurb:
Brought up in the wealth and comfort of Eastern “old money” in staid and proper Philadelphia, the Remington sisters are forced to scatter to the four winds and become mail-order brides. In order to gain a fortune, their sinister step-father, Josiah Bloodworth, has made plans to marry them off in loveless marriages. Time is running out, and no matter what lies ahead in their uncertain futures, it has to be better than the evil they’re running from…

SABRINA:  Impulsive Sabrina Remington, the youngest, weds a man she knows her family would disapprove of. Though Cameron Fraser’s family owns a ranch in lawless Indian Territory, he’s made his way in the world with a gun, living barely on the right side of the law. With everything on the line as Bloodworth and his henchmen close in, will Cam be able to protect Sabrina from the desperate man who means to kidnap her for his own wicked purposes?

My Review:
What a fun concept!! Four sisters find themselves being sold off to four men by their unscrupulous step-father. And these men don't appear to be the most upstanding of gentlemen either. So instead of facing a future bought and paid for, they gamble on an unknown future as mail order brides, hoping they didn't land in a worse situation.

Sabrina's story starts with a mistaken identity that flows into a new life on a ranch in Indian territory. Intense family drama leads to healing, along with old feuds settled. Sabrina and Cam's life starts up fast and doesn't let up! I adored their story!!

  1. Thanks again. It's so amazing what different authors come up with on a similiar theme, and this series is proof that the imagination and talent are the reader is the true winner. Doris

    1. Doris, this was sure a fun set to work on and our "team" of authors really came through, I think! (Maybe I'm prejudiced just a little, though...) LOL You're right--as many different authors as there are, that's how many ideas there'll be!

  2. You're an awesome reviewer, Michelle! Sabrina had a few challenges thrown in her path, for sure, and as usual, Cheryl Pierson wrote a hero to die for. I really enjoyed reading this book.

    1. Thank you, Jacquie! I was wondering if Sabrina was going to get by that first little shock of mistaken identity...but she recovered nicely. LOL (Who wouldn't?) LOL

    2. Awe, thank, Jacquie!! :) Cheryl has this not so bad habit of writing heroes who sweep me off my feet often! :)

  3. These four stories are ones that readers who love mail-order bride stories will read more than once. The common thread of being sisters adds a nice twist.

    1. Kaye, I really liked that twist, too--because not only did they all have to leave their home and everything familiar, they had to also separate from each other for the first time in their lives and all run to different parts of the U.S. to end up in different situations. THAT would be really hard.

  4. Michelle, thank you so much for reviewing The Remington Sisters in such detail and giving readers a glimpse into each sister's story. You have no idea how much we authors appreciate a good reviewer such as yourself--but we sure do! Thanks again from all of us here at PRP!
