Author Spotlight - Cheryl Pierson - Fun & Random Facts (SEE LINK BELOW FOR ORIGINAL POST AT FREE EBOOKS DAILY!I just added pictures in this one!) http://www.freeebooksdaily.com/2013/12/author-spotlight-cheryl-pierson-fun.html When I was growing up ... everyone thought I would be a writer. I wrote all the time, and in school, other kids would say, "Why did you write a whole page? We only had to write a paragraph!" I once ... talked my dad into taking a helicopter ride with me at the Oklahoma State Fair when I was about ten years old. Looking back on it, I realize that was the moment when he let his love for me override his fear and good sense. I used to work ... as a "security guard" in the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. I loved that job--met new people every day, wandered amongst beautiful artwork, and it was probably the most interesting job I ever had. Everyday... I start the day off with petting my Great Pyrenees "grandchild", Embry. He's a rescue dog my daughter adopted and we took him when she had to move to a place with no fence. I like to... sleep late in the mornings and work late at night. And I can do that, now that my husband has retired! One day I hope to have a book on the NYT bestseller list! DREAM BIG, I say! I am thankful for... my life, as simple as it may be--my older sister is in a nursing home after a stroke 5 years ago. She is only 68 but must be in a wheelchair and is dependent on others for everything. I never complain about getting older. I write best... in the early afternoons. I used to be a "morning person," but not anymore--and when evening rolls around, I'm ready for bed. I am working on several things...a short story for Prairie Rose Publications' Valentine's Day anthology, Hearts and Spurs; a chapter in the Wolf Creek series from the Western Fictioneers for the next Ford Fargo collaboration; and editing a western romance manuscript that will be released in late February. The most exciting thing I'm working on is the opening of my own publishing company Prairie Rose Publishing, with a long time friend, Livia Reasoner. This just happened in August. I have always wanted to... open an animal rescue shelter and work with animals who need a good home. There are so many of them out there and awareness needs to be raised--we can all do something to help, even if it's just donating a few dollars a month to a shelter for dog food. About the Author Cheryl was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, and grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and holds a B.A. in English. Cheryl lives with her husband in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she has been for the past 29 years. She has two grown children, ages 24 and 27, and a Great Pyrenees "granddog", Embry. Writing is so much a part of her life that recently, she and long-time friend Livia Reasoner, decided to open a publishing house. PRAIRIE ROSE PUBLICATIONS furthers the western-themed writing offerings of women. As if that weren’t enough, there were so many requests for a publishing house for young people interested in the west that they decided to open the unique imprint, PAINTED PONY BOOKS. This line will be open to all authors who have submissions for Middle Grade readers, Young Adult, and New Adult. The contemporary/futuristic imprint for these age groups is TORNADO ALLEY PUBLICATIONS, and for adult contemporary/futuristic, check out their imprint FIRE STAR PRESS All imprints are open and accepting submissions. Cheryl's latest novel is a western historical romance, GABRIEL'S LAW. Her upcoming release, THE HALF BREED'S WOMAN, will be available early next year through Prairie Rose Publications.
